Canadian Experience Class (CEC) Overview
The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) program is an immigration program available to individuals who have at least one year of Canadian work experience to get a permanent residency or immigrate to Canada permanently.
The Canadian Experience Class is a part of the Canadian Express Entry System which is one of the fastest pathways to immigrate to Canada permanently.
Advantage of the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) Program
The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is one of the best pathways to follow to immigrate to Canada permanently or get a permanent residency in Canada. This is so for so many reasons;
· It is an extremely fast route to get a permanent residency in Canada, as it requires as little as three to four months to process!
· All Canadian Experience Class Candidates have a minimum of one year of work experience which makes them gives them additional extra CRS points subsequently improving their chances to gain permanent residency through the Canadian Express Entry system
· CEC documentation requirement is usually minimal thus takes little time to process.
· Canadian Experience Class Candidates are exempted from providing proof of funds unlike candidates under the Federal Skilled Workers Class (FSWC) and Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC)
Who is Eligible to Apply for a Canadian Experience Class Program?
Candidates with a minimum of one year of full-time (or an equivalent amount of part-time) skilled work experiences in Canada are eligible for the Canadian Experience Class Program. Candidates must have acquired Canadian work experience within the previous three years from the date of the application.
Foreigners without Canadian skilled work experience are not eligible for the Canadian Experience Class program.
Canadian Experience Class (CEC) Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Canadian Experience Class, applicants must meet the following criteria;
· Must have a minimum of one year of full-time (or an equivalent amount of part-time) skilled work experience in Canada within the last three years.
· Your employment duties in Canada must fall under the National Occupation Classification (NOC) Code Skill Level 0, A or B
· Must be legally employed and have a paid work experience
· Applicants must be intending to live outside the province of Quebec
· Must reach the required Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 on an approved English or French language test for NOC skill level 0 or A jobs and a CLB 5 for NOC B jobs. Candidates would be required to prove this by taking any of the below language tests;
o CELPIP-General (English)
o IELTS-General (English)
o TEF (French)
o TCF (French
Candidates who are able to prove language ability in both English and French will obtain additional points under the CRS.
Note; an applicant cannot count work experience obtained while engaged in full-time studies in Canada.
